Welcome to new Mad Men Blog!

Hello and welcome to the new Mad Men blog. This is where I shall be posting things I see here and there about Mad Men (sometimes interesting and fun stuff) and also some of my own thoughts about the show (probably less interesting!) but hopefully there’s a few things here and there you will find interesting.

To get us started – here is a little heads up for a Matthew Weiner interview that recently aired on Jeff Garlin’s ‘By The Way’ podcast. I think it may have been recorded a few years ago from what Weiner is saying, but it is still very interesting. He talks a bit about his own career, his work on The Sopranos and financial difficulties with Mad Men back in the first season. He goes a lot into his life trying to make it as a TV writer which is really interesting. He also recounts the story of getting literally kicked in the butt while writing for a sitcom pre-Mad Men, and how it wasn’t the low point of his career! Very informative and very funny.

Also I stumbled upon an interview with Elizabeth Moss (aka Peggy Olsen) on NPR’s Fresh Air. She talks about being Peggy, going for the auditions and what she feels about her character on Mad Men. Again, very interesting and she seems like the nicest person.
